Early-Bird Stays, New Flights and a Reopened Blowhole

October 26, 2026

There's a lot stirring across French Polynesia right now — early-booking offers at two Pearl Resorts properties, a shipboard credit on PONANT's 2026 Tahiti voyages, and a batch of air connectivity news that stretches from Seattle to Sydney. Here's what's worth knowing as you dream and plan.

Stay a little longer, book a little earlier

Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts has two early-bird offers currently on its books, both requiring a booking at least 90 days before arrival and both including daily breakfast for two plus a complimentary minibar (a set selection of soft drinks, refilled once daily). The 20% early-bird offer applies to low-season stays — 1–30 April 2026, 1 November–20 December 2026, and 4 January–31 March 2027. A separate 15% early-bird offer covers high-season periods: 1 May–31 October 2026 and 21 December 2026–3 January 2027, valid on all room categories.

Over on Tikehau, Le Tikehau by Pearl Resorts is running its Islands Dream Offer: book at least one night there plus a night at another Pearl Resorts of Tahiti Collection hotel or at Tahiti Pearl Beach Resort, and take 25% off accommodation. Nuku Hiva is the exception, where the discount is 10% off the selected package (accommodation, half-board, excursions and round-trip airport transfers). Daily American breakfast is included at Le Tikehau.

For something more celebratory, Sofitel Kia Ora Moorea Beach Resort currently lists an in-room celebration package — canoe breakfast, a private romantic dinner, room surprises and gourmet touches — available 1 January to 31 December 2026.

On the water

PONANT is currently offering a US$1,000 shipboard credit per suite or stateroom on its 2026 Tempting Tahiti voyages aboard Le Jacques Cartier, which reaches the Society Islands, Tuamotus, Marquesas, Gambier and Austral islands.

Aranui Cruises, meanwhile, will inaugurate a new ship called Aranoa in spring, according to Le Figaro's look at the line. The vessel is designed to limit emissions and noise and to optimise energy consumption, with capacity deliberately capped at 198 passengers to protect the ecosystems. And Tahiti Tourisme's Australian site currently features the Aranui 5's 13-day Austral Islands Hidden Paradise cruise, heading some 600 km south of Tahiti into one of the country's least-visited regions.

Getting here

The biggest headline is the return of nonstop Seattle–Papeete service. Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines will launch the route on 11 June 2027, three times weekly (Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) with Airbus A330-200 aircraft, as reported by Air Journal. Wanderlust notes it links neatly with Alaska's London Heathrow–Seattle service that began in May 2026, and Tahiti Tourisme UK has welcomed the announcement.

Closer to home, Air Tahiti Signature reservations have opened for services starting 11 November, with five weekly morning triangular Papeete–Bora Bora–Raiatea–Papeete rotations on all-business ATR-72 aircraft, per Simple Flying. Domestic carrier Air Moana currently serves Tahiti, Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea, Bora Bora, Rangiroa, Fakarava, Nuku Hiva and Hiva Oa, and will add Tikehau in April 2027. And for Australian travellers, Tahiti Tourisme has signed a two-year agreement with The Luxury Travel Collection ahead of Air Tahiti Nui's direct Sydney–Papeete service starting 14 December 2026, Travel Monitor reports.

On the east coast of Tahiti

Good news for anyone who loves the wilder side of Tahiti: the Trou du souffleur site reopens to the public on Friday 30 October 2026, according to the Service du tourisme, which thanked users for their patience during the closure.

Looking ahead

Finally, a note for forward planners: TourMag reports that 2027 will see several renovated hotels return to the market — Te Moana in Tahiti, Sofitel in Moorea, and the Conrad and Intercontinental in Bora Bora — alongside new cruise capacity including Windstar's Wind Spirit from March and the Na Hiro E Pae for the Australs.

Keep dreaming, keep planning — the islands will be ready when you are.
